Question 1

How difficult is assembly, and what tools will I need?

Accepted Answer

Assembly is straightforward but requires some physical effort. The main task is securely attaching the sisal scratching pad to the solid wood frame, which can take a bit of force. You won't need any special tools—everything is included. A helpful tip from many reviewers is to do it on a soft surface like a carpet to protect the frame and to use a rubber mallet *gently* if the pieces are stubborn. Once assembled, it's incredibly sturdy.

Question 2

Is it truly "Extra-Large"? What are the dimensions, and is it suitable for a large Maine Coon or multiple cats?

Accepted Answer

The upgraded extra-large model measures approximately 32" L x 16" W x 10" H. It's a great size for most large cats and can comfortably accommodate two standard-sized cats lounging or scratching. However, owners of very large breeds (e.g., 18+ lb Maine Coons) note that while their cats can use it, the hammock may not have a deep sag. For multiple large, active cats, some Reddit users suggest considering an even more heavy-duty cat tree for maximum space.

Question 3

My cat is picky. What if they don't use it? What's the return policy?

Accepted Answer

We understand cat preferences can be unpredictable! We recommend placing the scratcher in a high-traffic area near your cat's favorite window or sleeping spot and rubbing it with catnip to encourage exploration. Our return policy allows for returns within 30 days of delivery for a full refund, provided the item is in its original condition. Please check the product listing on our storefront for the most current and detailed policy information.

Question 4

I've heard sisal can be messy. Does this shed a lot?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it's common for natural sisal to shed some loose fibers initially. Many TikTok and YouTube reviewers mention a "break-in period" of a few days to a week where you might see some brown sisal particles around the base. This is normal and decreases significantly after the initial scratching. A quick vacuum around the scratcher during the first week will manage the mess. This initial shedding is a sign of a high-quality, natural fiber that cats love to dig into.

Question 5

How does the durability of this compare to a basic cardboard scratcher or a carpeted post?

Accepted Answer

There's no comparison in terms of longevity. The solid wood frame won't wobble or tip, and the tightly wound natural sisal rope is far more durable than cardboard or carpet. While cardboard scratchers are disposable and carpet can fray, the sisal on this post is designed to withstand years of scratching. As one happy customer put it, "This replaced both the flimsy scratcher *and* the cat bed my cat never used. It's a workhorse and still looks great after a year."
