Question 1

Will my phone with its case on fit in the XL pouch, and is the touchscreen still usable?

Accepted Answer

It depends on your phone and case combo. Many users with standard-sized phones and slim-to-medium cases report a good fit, though it can be snug. For larger models like iPhone Pro Max or Galaxy S Ultra, you will likely need to remove a bulky case. The touchscreen works well through the clear window, but a common tip from social media is to keep the outside of the pouch dry for the most responsive experience, as water droplets can sometimes interfere.

Question 2

How trustworthy is the waterproof seal for activities like snorkeling?

Accepted Answer

Based on thousands of reviews, the pouch is highly reliable for surface swimming, pool use, kayaking, and beach activities. However, for repeated deep submersion like snorkeling, some advanced users on forums recommend a dedicated hard case for absolute peace of mind. Always perform the seal check (see instructions) before each use, and avoid putting pressure on the sealed pouch at depth.

Question 3

What happens if the pouch fails and my phone gets damaged?

Accepted Answer

Pelican offers a limited lifetime warranty on their products. We recommend registering your product upon receipt. In the rare event of a manufacturing defect leading to water ingress, you should contact Pelican customer support directly with your proof of purchase. For your immediate peace of mind, our standard return window allows you to test the pouch safely (e.g., with a paper towel inside) upon arrival.

Question 4

Is the floating feature reliable, and how does the lanyard attach?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the air trapped inside the pouch makes it positively buoyant, a feature countless TikTok and YouTube users have demonstrated with phones floating screen-up. The detachable lanyard uses a secure carabiner clip. While convenient, some vigilant reviewers suggest giving the clip a firm tug test before use and avoiding catching it on objects, as with any detachable tether.

Question 5

Who is this product really best for, and who might want to look elsewhere?

Accepted Answer

This 2-pack is a fantastic value for casual water protection. It's perfect for families on beach vacations, cruise ship passengers, festival-goers in the rain, or anyone near pools and splash pads. If your primary need is crystal-clear photography underwater or you have an exceptionally large phone in a heavy-duty case, you might be happier with a more specialized, higher-end hard case. For affordable, general-purpose waterproofing, this Pelican pouch is a crowd favorite.
