Question 1

How long does the cable last? I’ve heard it feels thin in some reviews.

Accepted Answer

The 3.5mm interchangeable cable is flexible and lightweight, which helps reduce microphonics while walking. However, several Reddit users and YouTube reviewers mention it feels less robust compared to braided cables. For daily use at a desk or casual listening, it holds up fine — but if you’re rough with cables or plan to use them on the go, you might want to budget for a $10–$15 replacement cable later. The good news is it uses a standard 0.78mm 2-pin connector, so swapping is easy.

Question 2

Do these stay in my ears during exercise or when moving around?

Accepted Answer

It depends on your ear shape. Many TikTok and Reddit users report the stock silicone ear tips don’t provide a secure grip for running or intense workouts. If you’re planning to use them at the gym, we recommend switching to foam or spin-fit tips for better grip. The IEM housing itself is lightweight, so once you find the right tip size, they can work for light jogging — just don’t expect them to stay locked in during heavy movement.

Question 3

Is the microphone good for calls and gaming?

Accepted Answer

The mic version is acceptable for quick voice calls in quiet environments, but it’s not studio-quality. Several buyers on YouTube noted that call clarity is “muffled” and volume can be low on some Android devices. For competitive gaming or work meetings where clear speech matters, you’re better off using a separate USB mic or the inline mic as a backup. Many users recommend skipping the mic version entirely and grabbing the standard cable set for better audio purity.

Question 4

How do these compare to the Moondrop Chu or 7Hz Salnotes Zero?

Accepted Answer

The TRUTHEAR GATE leans warmer and smoother, with more bass presence — great for pop, hip-hop, or if you want a relaxed listen. The Moondrop Chu has tighter bass and more treble energy, offering better clarity but can sound bright for some. The 7Hz Salnotes Zero is the most neutral of the three, made for detail-oriented listeners. For build quality, the Chu and Zero come with fixed cables, so the GATE’s detachable cable is a big plus for longevity. Audiophile forums often recommend the GATE if you prioritize comfort and sub-bass over pinpoint accuracy.

Question 5

What’s the return policy if they don’t fit or I change my mind?

Accepted Answer

Most retailers (Amazon, Linsoul, etc.) offer a 30-day return window for defective units or if the item arrives in new condition. For fit or preference returns, your mileage may vary — some third-party sellers deduct shipping or restocking fees. We recommend checking the seller’s policy before purchasing, and keep all original packaging. If you’re unsure about fit, many Reddit users suggest buying from a seller with free returns to avoid surprises.
