Question 1

Will the Avantree Relay work with my airline's seatback entertainment screen, and is there any audio lag when watching movies?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it's designed specifically for this purpose. You simply plug it into the airplane's 3.5mm audio jack. Regarding lag: some users, especially on platforms like TikTok and Reddit, report a slight audio delay with video content. This is common with Bluetooth transmitters. For the best experience, we recommend using it with headphones that support a low-latency codec like aptX Adaptive (which this transmitter supports) to minimize any sync issues.

Question 2

Can I connect two completely different brands of wireless headphones at the same time, like one Apple AirPods and one Bose set?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! This is one of the Relay's standout features. It supports simultaneous dual-audio streaming to any two standard Bluetooth headphones, regardless of brand. This makes it perfect for sharing a movie with a travel companion. Just note that both headphones will need to be paired initially, which can take a couple of minutes the first time.

Question 3

How durable is the build, and what's the real-world battery life I can expect on a long flight?

Accepted Answer

The Relay has a sturdy, compact plastic build designed for travel. Based on user feedback, being gentle with the USB-C port is advised for long-term durability. For battery life: while it's rated for up to 25 hours, real-world use at higher volumes with two headphones connected typically yields a still-impressive 18-20 hours—more than enough for even the longest international flights.

Question 4

I'm confused—is this a transmitter or a receiver? Can I use it to make my wired headphones wireless?

Accepted Answer

This is a crucial distinction! The Avantree Relay is a transmitter. It takes audio *from* a source (like an airplane seat jack) and sends it *to* your Bluetooth headphones. It will NOT make your traditional wired headphones wireless. If that's your goal, you would need a Bluetooth *receiver* device instead.

Question 5

What if it doesn't work with my setup or I'm not satisfied? What's the after-sales support like?

Accepted Answer

We offer a reliable return policy if you're not completely satisfied. Many reviews highlight that the initial pairing can require a specific sequence (like holding the button for 7 seconds to enter dual-pairing mode). We recommend checking the included quick-start guide first. If you encounter any issues, our customer support team is responsive and known for providing helpful troubleshooting to get you up and running for your journey.
