Question 1

Is Bio-Oil safe to use on my face, especially if I have acne-prone or sensitive skin?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Bio-Oil is formulated to be non-comedogenic, meaning it's designed not to clog pores. It's also dermatologist-recommended for sensitive skin. However, as with any new product, we advise doing a patch test on a small area of your jawline first. Some users with very sensitive skin or fragrance allergies have reported irritation, so listening to your skin is key.

Question 2

I've heard mixed things about the texture. Is it greasy, and how long does it take to absorb?

Accepted Answer

Bio-Oil is a dry-touch oil, but absorption time can vary by skin type. Most users find it absorbs within a few minutes when applied to damp skin. A common tip from social media is to use it very sparingly—3-5 drops per area—and massage it in thoroughly. If you prefer an instantly dry feel, you might find it takes a moment to fully sink in. Many TikTok users recommend applying it before bed to let it work overnight without worry.

Question 3

How soon can I expect to see results on my stretch marks or scars?

Accepted Answer

Consistency is crucial. Based on thousands of reviews, many users report noticing improved skin texture and hydration within a few weeks. For visible fading of newer, red or purple stretch marks and scars, most people see the best results after 2-3 months of regular, twice-daily application. It's important to note that results on older, silver-white scars may be more subtle and take longer.

Question 4

Is the scent strong, and is there a fragrance-free version?

Accepted Answer

Bio-Oil does have a distinctive, herbal fragrance from its natural oils and vitamins. While many enjoy the scent, it is a common point of feedback for those who are scent-sensitive or experiencing pregnancy nausea. Currently, there is no fragrance-free version available. If you're unsure, purchasing the smaller 2oz bottle first to test is a popular suggestion in online communities.

Question 5

I'm concerned about the bottle leaking. How should I store or travel with it?

Accepted Answer

This is a valid concern we've seen mentioned. The bottle cap can sometimes loosen. For travel, we recommend placing the bottle in a sealed plastic bag. A handy life-hack from Reddit users is to store it upright in a small cup or container in your bathroom cabinet to prevent any potential spillage from ruining shelves. Ensuring the cap is tightly closed after each use is the best prevention.
