Question 1

How do I know if the "Size No.5" slider will fit my broken zipper?

Accepted Answer

This is the most common question! The "No.5" refers to the slider's own size, not the zipper teeth size it fits. These sliders are designed for zippers where the teeth measure approximately 5mm wide. We recommend measuring the width of your existing zipper teeth with a ruler before purchasing. If you're unsure, searching "how to measure zipper size" on YouTube provides excellent visual guides.

Question 2

Are special tools needed to install these sliders?

Accepted Answer

For a secure and easy installation, yes. While it's possible to force them on by hand for thin fabrics, most users—especially those repairing luggage or thick bags—strongly recommend using a pair of flat-nose pliers. This helps clamp the slider onto the zipper tape without damaging it. Many TikTok DIY videos demonstrate this simple technique.

Question 3

Is the quality good enough for heavy-use items like luggage and backpacks?

Accepted Answer

Based on customer feedback, yes. Reviews from users who successfully installed them note they are solid metal, slide smoothly, and provide a durable repair. The key is ensuring a proper, tight fit during installation. For mission-critical luggage, some users suggest replacing both the slider and the bottom stop for maximum security.

Question 4

What if I order the wrong size or receive a defective slider?

Accepted Answer

We recommend double-checking your zipper measurement before ordering. If you do receive a pack with a defective or malformed slider (which a small number of reviews have mentioned), please contact the seller directly through your order platform to discuss a replacement or refund for the specific item. It's always a good idea to inspect all 10 sliders when they arrive.

Question 5

Who is this product best suited for?

Accepted Answer

This pack is ideal for DIY-savvy individuals, crafters, or thrifty fixers who don't mind a small hands-on project and have basic tools like pliers. It's perfect for reviving purses, backpacks, lunch bags, and non-critical luggage. If you're looking for a completely tool-free, instant fix or are repairing a valuable or delicate item, you might prefer a dedicated zipper repair kit with tools or a professional tailoring service.
