Question 1

How accurate is the “King Size” fit? I have a thick mattress, will this blanket cover it properly?

Accepted Answer

Great question! The Homemate measures 100” x 90”, which fits most standard king mattresses. However, many users on Reddit have noted that if you have an extra-thick pillow-top mattress (over 16 inches), the blanket may not drape as far down the sides as you’d like. It works best on standard to moderately thick king beds. For a perfect fit, measure your mattress depth and the drop you prefer before ordering.

Question 2

The controller looks bright in the photos. Is it annoying to sleep with, and can I wash the blanket?

Accepted Answer

The controller’s LED display is bright, and TikTok reviewers often joke about needing to “blindfold” it with a shirt at night. It’s a common complaint. As for washing, yes! The controller is fully detachable, so you can machine wash and dry the blanket safely on a gentle cycle. Just remember to avoid bleach and high heat to keep the flannel soft.

Question 3

Does the blanket actually heat evenly, or do some spots stay cold?

Accepted Answer

Most users find the heating very effective, especially in the central area, which warms up in about 2-3 minutes. However, a few reviews mention that the very edges don’t get as hot as the middle. This is common with most dual-layer heated blankets. If you’re looking to warm a specific spot for one person, it works great. If two people want to stay toasty on opposite edges, you may notice a temperature difference.

Question 4

I’m worried about safety, especially since we have pets. Is the auto-off feature reliable?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely—this is one of the blanket’s strongest features. It comes with ETL certification and an automatic 8-hour shutoff, which gives pet owners and forgetful sleepers a lot of peace. The cord and heating elements are also well-insulated, reducing the risk of overheating. Just make sure the blanket isn’t bunched up or folded while in use, as that can trap heat.

Question 5

Is this blanket good value for money, or should I spend more on a different brand?

Accepted Answer

For the price, this blanket offers excellent value. You get 10 heat levels, fast heating, ultra-soft flannel, and solid safety features. Many buyers say it feels much more expensive than it is. That said, if you’re looking for a thicker, quilted feel or a longer warranty (like 5 years with Sunbeam), you might want to explore alternatives. But for a cozy, everyday heated blanket that works reliably, most users are thrilled with the Homemate.
