Question 1

Is this glue truly flexible once cured, or will the repair feel stiff?

Accepted Answer

When used as directed on appropriate materials like reattaching a rubber sole to leather, it provides a strong, water-resistant bond with some flexibility. However, some users on social media note that if applied in a thick layer or on high-flex areas like shoe uppers, the repair spot can dry with a rigid feel. For maximum flexibility on bending points, apply a thin, even layer and allow for a full 24-48 hour cure time.

Question 2

How long does it *really* take to dry, and when can I wear my shoes safely?

Accepted Answer

While it sets touch-dry quickly, for a full, durable cure we recommend following the instructions carefully and then allowing extra time. Based on user feedback from platforms like Reddit, many find waiting a full 24 hours before applying light pressure, and 48 hours for full activity like walking, leads to the best results and prevents the glue from remaining tacky.

Question 3

What materials does it work best on, and are there any it doesn't adhere to well?

Accepted Answer

It works exceptionally well for bonding leather, rubber, and canvas—making it ideal for reattaching soles and heels. It can be less effective on some synthetic fabrics, vinyl, or suede without proper surface preparation (light sanding and cleaning). For repairing peeling vinyl or certain plastics, users often suggest testing on a small, hidden area first.

Question 4

The nozzle seems tricky. Any tips for a clean, mess-free application?

Accepted Answer

Great question! A common tip from DIY repair communities is to use a toothpick or a small disposable brush for precise application, especially on small holes or seams. Keep a damp cloth and some acetone (nail polish remover) handy for immediate clean-up of any drips. To prevent clogging, wipe the nozzle clean immediately after use and store the cap tightly.

Question 5

Is this a permanent fix, or should I consider a professional cobbler instead?

Accepted Answer

For many common repairs like detached soles or worn heels, this adhesive provides a strong, long-lasting fix that can extend the life of your shoes for months or years. It's a cost-effective solution for shoes with sentimental or moderate value. However, for expensive leather goods, delicate materials, or complex repairs, consulting a professional cobbler is always recommended for a guaranteed finish.
