Question 1

Does this Netac SSD work with my iPhone 15 Pro for recording 4K video?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the drive connects via the USB-C port on iPhone 15 Pro models and supports 4K video recording. Many users on YouTube confirm it works plug-and-play. Just note that sustained write speeds may dip slightly after a few minutes of continuous recording, so it’s best suited for casual clips rather than hour-long projects.

Question 2

I keep reading mixed things about the real speed—is it actually 10 Gbps?

Accepted Answer

The drive supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 speeds up to 10 Gbps, and you’ll see that in quick file transfers. However, like many budget SSDs, performance can drop during sustained large writes (e.g., 50 GB+). For everyday file moves, backups, and photo transfers, it’s consistently fast. Heavy-duty video editors may want to consider the Samsung T7 for more consistent high-speed transfers.

Question 3

The included cable looks really short—can I use any USB-C cable instead?

Accepted Answer

You can use any standard USB-C 3.2 cable, but for best speeds, pick one rated for 10 Gbps. Many users opt for a 1-foot or longer cable for desktop setups. TikTok reviewers often suggest a braided cable for durability. The drive itself isn’t picky about which cable you use.

Question 4

Is it safe to use as a boot drive for Windows or macOS?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. You can format it and install Windows via Boot Camp on Mac or use it as a Windows boot drive. It supports TRIM on macOS as well. Just be aware it’s not as rugged as a Samsung or SanDisk Extreme, so handle it carefully if you’re carrying it between workspaces.

Question 5

How does this compare to the Samsung T7 in real-world use?

Accepted Answer

The Netac is lighter and often $20–$30 cheaper, making it great for students or casual users. The Samsung T7 has a sturdier metal case and slightly better sustained speeds for large file transfers, which power users prefer. Read our full comparison if you’re on the fence, but for most everyday needs, the Netac is a solid value choice.
