Question 1

Is Fresh Cab effective for an active mouse infestation, or is it better for prevention?

Accepted Answer

Based on extensive user feedback, Fresh Cab is most effective as a preventive measure and nesting deterrent. Many customers report great success using it in stored vehicles, attics, and closets to *keep* mice out. However, if you already have an established nest or a significant number of mice, users often find it needs to be paired with traditional removal methods like traps for complete control. Think of it as a strong "Keep Out" sign rather than an eviction crew for current residents.

Question 2

How long does the scent and effectiveness of one pouch really last?

Accepted Answer

While designed to last up to 4 months in a standard room, the duration can vary based on space size, airflow, and rodent pressure. A common observation from reviews is that the noticeable balsam fir fragrance, which indicates the pouch is actively emitting its botanical oils, often fades after 2-3 months. For continuous protection in problem areas, we recommend checking the pouches monthly and replacing them when the scent is no longer distinct.

Question 3

Where should I place the pouches for the best results, and how many do I need?

Accepted Answer

Placement is key! Focus on enclosed spaces where rodents seek to nest or enter. Popular and effective spots include: under the hood of vehicles, in garages, sheds, attics, crawl spaces, closets, and near appliance motors. Avoid placing them in the middle of open rooms. As a rule of thumb, start with one pouch per enclosed area (e.g., one in the attic, one in the garage corner). For larger spaces like a big barn, you would need multiple pouches spaced throughout.

Question 4

Is it truly safe around children, pets, and sensitive animals like birds?

Accepted Answer

When used as directed—meaning the pouches are placed out of reach where pets and children cannot chew or ingest them—Fresh Cab is made from natural plant fibers and essential oils and is a safe, non-toxic alternative to poisons. However, the essential oils can be harmful if ingested. It is not recommended for use in cages or confined areas with pet birds, reptiles, or small rodents like hamsters, as they can have heightened sensitivity to airborne botanicals.

Question 5

I've seen people use peppermint oil. How does Fresh Cab compare?

Accepted Answer

Fresh Cab offers a more convenient, longer-lasting, and measured approach. While peppermint oil is a popular DIY remedy, it requires frequent reapplication (often weekly) as the scent evaporates quickly. Fresh Cab's patented botanical formula in a slow-release pouch provides consistent, set-and-forget protection for months. Many users who switched from DIY methods appreciate the consistent results and pleasant, forest-like scent of Fresh Cab over the strong, sometimes overwhelming smell of pure peppermint.
