Question 1

How loud is this ultrasonic cleaner, and can I use it in a living space?

Accepted Answer

Many users on social media note it produces a consistent, noticeable hum—comparable to a loud electric toothbrush or a small aquarium pump. While effective, it's not silent. For apartment use, running it in a bathroom or on a towel can dampen the sound, but if you're highly noise-sensitive, you may want to consider models specifically marketed as "quiet" or place it in a separate room during its cycle.

Question 2

Is the included basket big enough for items like dentures or a large watch?

Accepted Answer

This is a common point of feedback. The included metal basket is best suited for smaller items like rings, earrings, or retainer pieces. For full denture plates or larger watches, the basket may be too small or restrictive. Many Reddit and Amazon reviewers happily purchase inexpensive, larger third-party stainless steel baskets (search "ultrasonic cleaner basket") that fit the 2L tank perfectly for more versatile cleaning.

Question 3

Does the built-in heater get the water hot, and is it necessary?

Accepted Answer

The heater function is designed to gently warm the water to aid cleaning, but it does not produce hot water. Reviews consistently describe it as reaching a lukewarm temperature. The primary cleaning action comes from the ultrasonic waves. For tasks requiring hot water (like dissolving certain cleaning tablets), you may need to add warm water from the tap. The ultrasonic technology itself is highly effective at room temperature.

Question 4

What can I safely clean with it, and what solutions should I use?

Accepted Answer

It's excellent for jewelry (gold, silver, platinum), eyeglasses, dentures, retainers, small metal parts, and razor heads. Avoid cleaning pearls, opals, soft stones, wood, or anything glued. For solutions, a few drops of mild dish soap in water works for most items. For jewelry, a dedicated ultrasonic jewelry cleaning solution is recommended. For dentures, use a tablet specifically designed for ultrasonic cleaners. Never use bleach, vinegar, or harsh acids.

Question 5

Is this built to last, or should I expect to replace it in a year?

Accepted Answer

With over 3,500 reviews, the consensus is that it offers great value for occasional to regular home use. Most users report trouble-free operation for years. To ensure longevity, avoid running it empty, don't overload it, and descale it with a vinegar-water solution if you have hard water. While not an industrial-grade "buy-it-for-life" tool, with proper care it is a durable appliance for its price point.
