Question 1

Is the amber light really better for my eyes and sleep than a regular white book light?

Accepted Answer

Yes, based on both product design and user feedback. The 1600K amber light emits virtually no blue light, which is known to disrupt melatonin production and cause eye strain. Thousands of reviewers, especially those reading at night, specifically praise this light for eliminating headaches and making it easier to fall asleep after reading. While it's not a medical device, the consensus is that it's significantly more eye-friendly than standard white LEDs.

Question 2

How sturdy is the clip, and will it fit my thick hardcover book or headboard?

Accepted Answer

The clamp is designed for most common use cases. It opens to about 1.5 inches, fitting the vast majority of book spines, Kindle cases, and thin to medium headboards. However, a common note from users is that it may struggle with very thick, padded headboards or exceptionally large hardcovers. If your primary surface is over 1.5 inches thick, you might want to consider a light with a more heavy-duty clamp.

Question 3

I've seen comments about the magnet being weak. What surfaces does it work best on?

Accepted Answer

The magnetic base works reliably on thin, smooth metal surfaces like a bed frame rail or a metal lamp. Its limitation, as some Reddit users have pointed out, is on thicker, textured, or painted metal, where the connection can be less secure. For non-metal surfaces, it won't stick at all. Many happy customers use the clip as their primary attachment method and see the magnet as a convenient bonus for the right spot.

Question 4

What's the real-world battery life, and can I use it while charging?

Accepted Answer

In practice, most users report getting well over 50 hours on the medium setting, often meeting or exceeding the 70-hour claim on the lowest brightness. You cannot use the light while it's plugged in via USB-C. It must be charged fully, then unplugged to use. A full charge takes about 2-3 hours.

Question 5

Who is this light NOT a good fit for?

Accepted Answer

This light might not be ideal for you if: 1) You need an extremely dim, nightlight-level glow (the lowest setting is still a functional reading light), 2) You are highly skeptical of "blue-light blocking" claims and prefer a neutral white light, or 3) Your main attachment point is a thick, padded headboard over 1.5 inches. It's best suited for readers who want a warm, cozy, eye-friendly glow for personal use in bed or a chair.
