Question 1

Is the bassinet mattress pad firm? Can I use a different one?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the included pad is quite firm, which is intentional to meet safe sleep guidelines for infants. Many parents on TikTok and Reddit have mentioned adding a firm, fitted quilted sheet or a Graco-branded support pad for a bit more cushion while maintaining safety. Always ensure any added padding is specifically designed for this model and does not create gaps or a soft, loose surface.

Question 2

How portable is it really for travel?

Accepted Answer

It's best thought of as a "destination" travel bed. It folds compactly for car travel and storage, but as noted in many reviews, it's a bit heavy for frequent air travel. It's perfect for weekends at grandma's house or as a permanent space-saver in a living room. If you need something for weekly plane trips, a lighter, backpack-style travel crib might be a better fit.

Question 3

Is the "Lo" color true to the online photos?

Accepted Answer

This is a common point of feedback. The "Lo" (Light Grey) finish often appears in photos with a warm, light grey tone, but in person, it tends to be a cooler, darker slate or blue-grey. We recommend checking customer-uploaded photos for a more accurate representation of the color.

Question 4

How easy is it to set up, and is the bassinet safe for overnight sleep?

Accepted Answer

Most users find setup straightforward after the first try, though the bassinet and changer clips can be tricky. Searching for a quick YouTube video on the "Graco Day2Dream bassinet lock" is a popular hack for visual learners. Yes, the bassinet is designed for overnight sleep, featuring breathable mesh sides and meeting CPSC safety standards for a contained sleep space for infants up to 15 lbs or when they can push up.

Question 5

What's the main advantage over buying a basic playard?

Accepted Answer

The Day2Dream is praised for its all-in-one, space-saving design. Unlike a basic playard, it includes a dedicated, raised bassinet for safer infant sleep and a removable changing station. This means you don't have to bend all the way down for naps or diaper changes, which parents of newborns consistently highlight as a back-saving benefit. It's a versatile hub for your baby's first several months.
