Question 1

Is this power adapter safe to leave plugged in and running 24/7 for my security camera or baby monitor?

Accepted Answer

Many users report using it continuously for low-to-moderate drain devices like security cameras without issue. However, as a generic adapter, it lacks the recognized safety certifications (like UL listing) of major brands. For absolute peace of mind with critical devices, a branded, certified adapter is recommended. This unit is best seen as a cost-effective solution where the risk of a rare failure is acceptable.

Question 2

I need this for a Raspberry Pi 4. Will it provide enough stable power?

Accepted Answer

Feedback is mixed. While it may work for a Pi 4 under minimal load, numerous users on tech forums report their Pi 4 triggering the "low-power" warning with this adapter, especially when using peripherals. It may not consistently deliver the full 2A under demand. For reliable Raspberry Pi 4 operation, a dedicated, high-quality 3A+ power supply is a better investment.

Question 3

How long is the included cable, and is it durable?

Accepted Answer

The included USB-C cable is approximately 3 feet (1 meter) long. A common point of feedback is that this length can be too short for setups like mounted security cameras, requiring an extension or a longer separate cable. The cable's build quality is considered adequate for its price but not heavy-duty.

Question 4

What if the adapter stops working? Is there a warranty or return policy?

Accepted Answer

This is sold as a generic accessory, typically without a manufacturer's warranty. Your protection comes from the seller's return window on the platform where you purchased it (e.g., Amazon's 30-day return policy). We advise testing the adapter as soon as you receive it. If you encounter a failure after the return window, you would need to contact the seller directly, though resolution is not guaranteed.

Question 5

What devices is this adapter genuinely good for?

Accepted Answer

It excels as a versatile, budget-friendly replacement for many standard 5V devices that don't have high or peaky power demands. Happy customers commonly use it for: basic security cameras, simple baby monitors, USB hubs, LED light strips, routers, external hard drive enclosures, and charging older phones or tablets. It's a great "just works" solution for these everyday electronics.
