Question 1

I wear glasses and have a larger head. Will this headset be comfortable for long gaming sessions?

Accepted Answer

Comfort is highly individual, but this is a common point in reviews. Many users find the HS65 very comfortable, but some with glasses or larger heads report the clamp force can feel tight, leading to pressure over multiple hours. If you're particularly sensitive to clamp, you might want to consider a model known for a looser fit or try it with a return-friendly policy.

Question 2

How durable are the ear pads, and can I replace them if they wear out?

Accepted Answer

The synthetic leather ear pads are the component most mentioned for wear. Some users report the material can peel or flake after 6-12 months of heavy use. While Corsair doesn't sell official replacement pads directly, many third-party options that fit the HS series are available on sites like Amazon. It's a good idea to factor in potential pad replacement for long-term ownership.

Question 3

Does it truly work with Xbox Series X|S for both game audio and party chat?

Accepted Answer

For full functionality on Xbox Series X|S (game audio *and* chat), you will need an additional adapter. The headset plugs into the Xbox Wireless Controller, but for chat, the controller requires a 3.5mm headset with a CTIA standard 4-pole plug, which the HS65 has. However, many users find they need the Xbox Stereo Headset Adapter for reliable chat volume and mute controls. This is a common point of clarification sought by Xbox players.

Question 4

Is the microphone quality good enough for professional work calls, or is it just for gaming?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. The microphone clarity is one of the most praised features across all reviews, including on platforms like TikTok and YouTube. It consistently receives high marks for canceling background noise and providing clear, broadcast-quality voice pickup. It's an excellent choice for gaming, Discord, Zoom, and remote work calls without needing a separate mic.

Question 5

Do I need to install Corsair's iCUE software to get good sound, and is it worth it?

Accepted Answer

No, the headset sounds great right out of the box with a balanced profile suitable for most games and music. However, to access advanced features like the personalized SoundID audio calibration, custom EQ profiles, and sidetone control, you will need to install the free iCUE software on your PC or Mac. Some users love the customization, while others prefer to keep their system software-free.
