Question 1

How does the actual "Apple Green" color compare to the product photos?

Accepted Answer

Many reviewers note the color is slightly more muted and earthy than the bright, vibrant green in some photos. It's often described as a lovely sage or olive green. If you need a specific, vivid shade, you might want to order a sample first or look for a brand that specializes in photographic color accuracy.

Question 2

Is the cord a consistent 0.4mm thickness, and is it suitable for small beads?

Accepted Answer

While the cord is generally the advertised 0.4mm, some users have reported occasional slight variations in thickness along the spool. For the vast majority of projects like Shamballa bracelets or basic beading, it works perfectly. It fits through most standard bead holes, but if you're working with very tiny seed beads (under 1mm), you may want to test a small section first.

Question 3

How strong is this cord, and what is it best used for?

Accepted Answer

This nylon cord is praised for its exceptional strength and resistance to fraying, making it ideal for knotted jewelry (like macramé and Shamballa), kumihimo, friendship bracelets, and light repair tasks. However, as some TikTok DIYers have pointed out, it's not meant for heavy-duty, high-tension applications like pet leashes or hanging very heavy objects.

Question 4

I've seen comments about the cord tangling on the spool. How can I manage this?

Accepted Answer

This is a common mention in reviews! The cord can sometimes unravel or tangle on its original spool during shipping or use. Experienced crafters recommend transferring the cord to a separate bobbin, using a yarn bowl, or pulling from the center of the spool carefully to keep your workspace tidy and prevent frustration.

Question 5

Is this cord waxed? What's the finish like for knotting?

Accepted Answer

No, this is an unwaxed, braided nylon cord. It has a smooth, slightly soft finish that is excellent for creating tight, secure knots that hold their shape well. Many users prefer this for comfort in wearable bracelets. If your project requires a stiffer, waxed finish for more structure, a dedicated waxed polyester cord might be a better alternative.
