Question 1

What read and write speeds does this drive support?

Accepted Answer

The manufacturer lists up to 550 MB/s read and 500 MB/s write on USB 3.2 Gen 2, dropping to about 450 MB/s on USB 3.0 or 3.1 Gen1 ports. Reviewers report sustained reads and writes of 400+ MB/s and hitting advertised speeds in bursts.

Question 2

Does the drive get hot during use?

Accepted Answer

Yes, reviewers note it gets hot to the touch, especially on writes, though the metal enclosure sheds heat from the chips.

Question 3

Why does a 2TB drive show less than 2TB on Windows?

Accepted Answer

The listing explains this is due to the 1GB=1024MB vs 1000MB conversion difference, so a 2TB drive typically shows around 1907GB on Windows, while MacOS usually shows the full 2TB.

Question 4

Does it work with iPhone and Android phones?

Accepted Answer

The listing states it is compatible with iPhone 15/16/17 and other USB-C Android phones, but incompatible with Lightning-port iPhones.

Question 5

Does the transfer speed drop when the drive is nearly full?

Accepted Answer

The listing says speed stays stable as long as each transfer is under 1/4 of the remaining usable capacity, and reviewers report sustained 400+ MB/s reads and writes.
