Question 1

How effective is this for different types of bugs, and what should I realistically expect?

Accepted Answer

The WowCatch is highly effective for small flying insects like fruit flies, gnats, and moths, especially when placed near their source (e.g., a fruit bowl or houseplant). For larger houseflies, results can vary—they are attracted but may not always get stuck. It's a passive trap, not an instant zapper, so it works best over a few days. Many users on social media emphasize that it's a fantastic *targeted* solution, but not a whole-room bug vacuum.

Question 2

Is the light too bright or noisy for use in a bedroom?

Accepted Answer

The blue LED light is noticeable in a dark room. If you are sensitive to light when sleeping, we recommend using it in another area, like a kitchen or living room, overnight. The device has a very low hum from its internal fan, which is silent to most but can be heard in absolute quiet. For a bedroom, placing it in an adjacent bathroom with the door open is a popular hack.

Question 3

Is it safe to use around my kids and pets?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. This is one of its biggest benefits. The trap uses no chemicals, pesticides, or high-voltage grids. It attracts bugs with a safe UV-A light and contains them on a non-toxic glue card. Just place it out of direct reach to prevent curious hands or paws from touching the sticky surface.

Question 4

How many devices do I need, and where is the best place to put them?

Accepted Answer

One device is designed for a focused area of about 80-100 square feet. For an open-concept kitchen or living room, two devices placed in opposite corners is a common strategy. The key is placement: set it up 2-4 feet away from the problem area (trash can, plant, window) in a dark location, as competing light sources reduce effectiveness. Avoid placing it right next to a fan or AC vent.

Question 5

How often do I need to change the glue cards, and what's the deal with the refills?

Accepted Answer

Each glue card lasts 1-3 months, depending on the insect volume. You'll know it's time to change it when it's visibly covered or no longer sticky. The included bundle comes with 8 cards + a 5-refill pack, giving you a long-term supply. A tip from experienced users: peel the protective film slowly to avoid the card curling and handle it by the edges to keep it clean.
