Question 1

Does this controller work wirelessly with my Windows PC and other devices?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it's designed for multi-platform use. It connects seamlessly to Xbox Series X|S and Windows 10/11 PCs via the included Xbox Wireless technology (no adapter needed). For Bluetooth pairing with Android, iOS, Smart TVs, and some PCs, simply hold the pairing button. Many TikTok users highlight how easy it is to switch between their Xbox and phone for cloud gaming.

Question 2

Are rechargeable batteries included in the box?

Accepted Answer

No, the controller requires two AA batteries, which are not included. This is a common point of feedback from the community. For a rechargeable solution, many users recommend purchasing the Xbox Play & Charge Kit separately or using your own high-quality rechargeable AAs, which reportedly last 30-40 hours per charge.

Question 3

How durable is this controller, and what about stick drift?

Accepted Answer

It has a renowned reputation for solid, premium build quality and comfort. While the vast majority of users report excellent long-term durability, a small segment on forums like Reddit has experienced analog stick drift after extensive, intense use (often 8+ months). The controller comes with a standard manufacturer's warranty to cover defects, and Microsoft's support process for hardware issues is generally considered straightforward.

Question 4

Who is this controller best suited for?

Accepted Answer

It's an ideal all-rounder for gamers invested in the Xbox/Windows ecosystem, casual players who game across consoles and devices, and anyone who prioritizes best-in-class ergonomics. It might not be the perfect fit for competitive players seeking extra back paddles or those on a very tight budget, as some suggest the previous model or dedicated PC controllers could offer better value for those specific needs.

Question 5

What's the main advantage of this 2025 model over older Xbox controllers?

Accepted Answer

The key upgrade is enhanced multi-platform connectivity and stability, making it the most versatile Xbox controller yet for switching between consoles, PCs, and mobile devices. The build and feel are consistently praised as top-tier, similar to the previous model. However, if you only game on an Xbox and find a great deal on the 2020 "Core" model, you'll get a nearly identical experience for less.
