Question 1

I suffer from wrist pain after long hours at the computer. Is this keyboard genuinely helpful for ergonomics?

Accepted Answer

Yes, overwhelmingly so. The split design is the key feature praised by users with similar issues. It allows your hands and shoulders to rest in a more natural, relaxed position, reducing strain. The integrated wrist rest provides consistent support, though some note it feels firm initially before "breaking in" to become very comfortable. Many reviews from programmers, writers, and gamers specifically mention significant relief from wrist and forearm discomfort.

Question 2

How does it connect, and is it compatible with my Mac, iPad, or gaming console?

Accepted Answer

The RKS70 offers triple connectivity: a stable 2.4GHz wireless dongle for primary PCs/gaming, Bluetooth for connecting up to three devices (like a laptop, iPad, and phone), and a wired USB-C connection. It works seamlessly with Windows, macOS, and iOS/iPadOS. For gaming consoles like the PlayStation, the wired mode is your most reliable option, as console Bluetooth support for keyboards can be limited.

Question 3

The product mentions "hot-swappable" switches. What does that mean, and what switches can I use?

Accepted Answer

Hot-swappable means you can pull out the mechanical switches and plug in new ones without any soldering, making it easy to customize the typing feel. The RKS70 uses standard 3-pin mechanical switches, which are compatible with the vast majority of aftermarket switches from brands like Gateron, Kailh, and Cherry MX (though 5-pin switches may require clipping the extra plastic legs). It's a fantastic feature for enthusiasts who like to experiment.

Question 4

Is the wrist rest removable, and how comfortable is it?

Accepted Answer

The wrist rest is fixed and not removable—it's part of the keyboard's solid chassis. This design ensures it's always perfectly aligned. Feedback on comfort is split initially: many users find it very supportive long-term but admit it feels quite hard for the first week or two of use. After this short break-in period, most people adapt and appreciate the firm support during marathon typing or gaming sessions.

Question 5

What's the real catch with this keyboard? I see mostly great reviews.

Accepted Answer

The most common point of criticism centers on the customization software, which some users on Reddit and tech forums describe as less intuitive or polished than software from bigger brands. If you plan on frequently remapping keys or creating complex lighting profiles, be prepared for a bit of a learning curve. For everyday use, typing, and gaming using the default or simple settings, this isn't an issue. The value, build, and ergonomic benefits are widely considered to far outweigh this software drawback.
