Question 1

How loud is the machine during operation, and is it suitable for an apartment or early morning use?

Accepted Answer

The machine is functional but notably loud during the grinding phase, similar to a high-powered blender. Many TikTok and Reddit users mention it can be disruptive in small spaces or if you have light sleepers nearby. For apartment use, running it during the day or placing it on a sound-absorbing mat is a common recommendation.

Question 2

Does the "self-cleaning" function mean I don't have to clean it manually?

Accepted Answer

The self-clean cycle is best thought of as a powerful rinse. It helps loosen residue but does not replace manual cleaning. For best results and to prevent buildup, most users quickly disassemble the jug and lid after use for a brief hand wash. The parts are dishwasher safe for top-rack cleaning, which many find to be the easiest method.

Question 3

I've read some reviews about the touchscreen or motor failing. How durable is this machine, and what is the warranty?

Accepted Answer

While the majority of users report reliable long-term use, a small number have experienced issues with the touchscreen or motor. BHG offers a standard 1-year limited warranty. It's important to follow the cleaning instructions to prevent damage. For peace of mind, purchasing from a retailer with a good return policy or considering an extended warranty is a step some savvy shoppers take.

Question 4

Can I make smooth, grit-free almond milk without pre-soaking or straining?

Accepted Answer

For the smoothest almond milk, pre-soaking almonds for 6-8 hours is recommended, even though the powerful 14-blade grinder does a great job. Some grit may remain, so using the included filter or a fine nut milk bag for a final strain will give you a silky, cafe-quality result. For oats or soybeans, the process is more truly "set-and-forget."

Question 5

Who is this milk maker best suited for, and are there better alternatives for quiet operation?

Accepted Answer

This machine is ideal for households that regularly consume plant-based milk and prioritize hot, ready-to-drink convenience and versatile functions. If your primary concern is quiet operation, brands like Nutr are frequently mentioned in community comparisons as being significantly quieter, though often at a higher price point. For those who only make milk occasionally, a traditional blender and nut milk bag may be a more cost-effective solution.
