Question 1

Is this mattress really 12 inches, or do some come thinner?

Accepted Answer

Most users report that the mattress expands to the full 12 inches within 72 hours. However, a small number of reviews note that theirs settled closer to 10–11 inches after a few weeks. If fit is critical for your sheets, we recommend unboxing in a warm room, placing it on a flat slatted base, and giving it a full 72 hours to expand before measuring.

Question 2

I’m a side sleeper — will this help with my back pain?

Accepted Answer

Many side sleepers with back pain have found relief thanks to the 7-zone pocket spring system, which targets pressure points. But because the mattress is medium-firm, some lighter side sleepers may find it too hard for their hips and shoulders. TikTok and Reddit users suggest giving it at least two weeks before deciding; if it still feels too firm, the 365-night trial lets you return it.

Question 3

How bad is the off-gassing smell, and how long does it last?

Accepted Answer

Like most bed-in-a-box mattresses, this one has a noticeable “new mattress smell” when first unboxed. For most people, it fades within 24–48 hours. However, a few sensitive users reported it lingering for up to two weeks. If you’re chemical-sensitive, we suggest airing it out in a well-ventilated room for at least 72 hours before sleeping on it.

Question 4

Is the return process really as easy as the 365-night trial suggests?

Accepted Answer

Yes and no. Customer support is responsive, but you’ll need to provide photos if there’s a defect, and the mattress must be fully expanded for 30 days before a return is authorized. For standard trial returns, the company arranges pickup and refunds the full purchase price. A few users on social media complained about needing extra photos, but most found the process straightforward.

Question 5

How does this compare to cheaper options like Zinus or pricier ones like Casper?

Accepted Answer

This mattress sits solidly in the mid-range: better motion isolation than Zinus, but not as plush as Casper’s high-end foam. If you’re a couple sharing a bed and hate feeling partner movement, the pocket springs here are a great value. For those needing strong edge support or a softer feel, you might prefer a Nectar or Casper — but expect to pay $100–$200 more.
