Question 1

Is the video quality good enough to read license plates, especially at night?

Accepted Answer

The 1296p resolution and 140° wide-angle lens provide excellent, detailed footage during the day, which many users praise. However, like most dashcams in this price range, night video can be grainier and may not consistently capture clear license plates in low-light or high-speed scenarios. For optimal night performance, ensuring your windshield is clean is crucial.

Question 2

I keep hearing about SD card problems. Which card should I buy to avoid issues?

Accepted Answer

This is a common point of frustration. The M300 can be picky with microSD cards. To ensure reliable performance and avoid freezing/rebooting, we strongly recommend using a High Endurance card from a major brand (like SanDisk High Endurance or Samsung PRO Endurance), formatted regularly within the dashcam itself. Many TikTok and Reddit users found this solved their stability problems.

Question 3

How reliable is the parking mode, and will it drain my car's battery?

Accepted Answer

The parking mode function requires a separate hardwiring kit (not included) for automatic activation. User experiences vary: while it works for many, some report it can be inconsistent in detecting minor events. If hardwired, it's designed with a low-voltage cutoff to protect your battery, but as with any always-on device, there is a small risk of drain, especially on older batteries. It's not recommended as a 24/7 surveillance solution.

Question 4

Is the 70mai app easy to use, or is it glitchy?

Accepted Answer

App connectivity is the most frequent complaint. While functional for viewing and downloading clips, many users on social media report occasional disconnections, slow live view, or the need to re-pair the device. For daily driving, the dashcam works independently, but managing settings and footage via the app can sometimes require patience.

Question 5

Who is this dashcam best suited for, and who might want to look at alternatives?

Accepted Answer

The 70mai M300 is an excellent entry-level choice for drivers who want crisp daytime recording, a discreet design, and core features (loop recording, G-sensor) at a great price. If you prioritize rock-solid app performance, flawless parking mode, or top-tier night vision, you might want to consider investing in a dedicated model from brands like Viofo.
