Question 1

I keep hearing the sound is amazing, but will the keycap lettering wear off?

Accepted Answer

This is a common point raised in reviews. The included PBT keycaps are side-printed, meaning the legends are on the side of the key, not the top. While this gives a clean look, some users report the printing can fade on heavily used keys over several months. The good news is the keyboard has a standard layout, so upgrading to a top-printed or double-shot PBT keycap set later is an easy and popular option.

Question 2

How reliable is the wireless connectivity, especially for gaming?

Accepted Answer

The tri-mode connectivity is a major highlight. For gaming, the 2.4GHz wireless dongle provides a near-instantaneous, lag-free connection comparable to a wired keyboard. The Bluetooth 5.0 is perfect for connecting to laptops, tablets, or phones for typing, though a small number of users note it can have occasional latency, making the 2.4GHz mode the recommended choice for competitive gaming.

Question 3

Is the software for RGB and macros difficult to use?

Accepted Answer

Based on user feedback, this is the keyboard's weakest point. The customization software is functional for setting basic RGB patterns and macros, but many find it unintuitive or occasionally buggy. A common tip from the community is to set your preferred lighting (many love the stock RGB effects) and save it to the keyboard's onboard memory, then you can uninstall the software.

Question 4

As someone new to mechanical keyboards, is this a good choice? What can I customize?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely! The AULA F87 Pro is frequently recommended as a fantastic "starter" custom keyboard. It comes ready to use with a great sound and feel. Its hot-swappable sockets mean you can easily pull out the switches and replace them with any compatible 3-pin mechanical switch later—no soldering needed. This lets you experiment with different typing feels without buying a whole new keyboard.

Question 5

What's the real catch with such an affordable price?

Accepted Answer

The value is genuinely impressive, but managing expectations is key. You're getting premium build quality, versatile connectivity, and excellent sound for the price. The trade-offs, as noted by users, are primarily in the accessory-tier components: the side-printed keycaps may not be as durable, and the customization software isn't top-tier. If your priority is a solid, great-sounding typing experience right out of the box, it's a winner. If you need flawless software or indestructible keycaps, you may want to budget for those specific upgrades.
