Question 1

Is this lubricant compatible with my treadmill, and will it void my warranty?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Prounol is 100% pure silicone oil, which is the standard lubricant recommended by nearly all major treadmill brands (like NordicTrack, ProForm, Sole, and Life Fitness) for their belts. Using a pure silicone lubricant like this one for regular maintenance typically *supports* your warranty, as it prevents wear and tear. Always check your owner's manual to confirm, but it's universally compatible.

Question 2

How much lubricant should I use, and how often?

Accepted Answer

For most home treadmills, a thin, even layer is all you need. A common tip from experienced users is to apply 4-6 small drops (about a teaspoon total) along the center of the running belt, then run the treadmill at a slow speed for 3-5 minutes to spread it evenly. Frequency depends on use; a good rule of thumb is every 3 months or every 130 hours of use. If the belt starts to feel sticky or you hear a squeak, it's time.

Question 3

I've seen reviews mentioning leaks. Is the packaging reliable?

Accepted Answer

While the vast majority of bottles arrive intact, a small percentage have had issues with the applicator tip or cap seal during shipping. We take this feedback seriously. If you receive a bottle that has leaked, please contact customer service immediately for a replacement or refund—we stand by our product. Many TikTok users suggest checking the cap tightness upon arrival and storing the bottle upright.

Question 4

What's the best way to apply this without making a mess?

Accepted Answer

Great question! Based on user tips across social media: First, ensure the bottle is upright before use. Gently squeeze the bottle—don't press hard, as the applicator can sometimes release more than expected. Some Reddit users recommend practicing on a paper towel first. For ultimate precision, a few customers prefer to apply a few drops to a lint-free cloth and then wipe it under the belt, though the included applicator works for most.

Question 5

How does this compare to the more expensive lubricant sold by my treadmill's manufacturer?

Accepted Answer

In terms of core performance—quieting squeaks and reducing friction—users consistently report Prounol works just as effectively. The primary difference is price and packaging. You're paying a premium for the treadmill brand's name on the bottle. The 16.9 oz Prounol bottle offers tremendous value, lasting most households for years. The main trade-off, as noted in some reviews, is that the applicator may not feel as high-end, but the silicone oil inside is the same high-quality standard.
