Question 1

Is the adhesive strong enough, or will I need extra tape?

Accepted Answer

The included adhesive works well for most smooth, interior doors and provides a strong initial seal. However, based on user experiences, we recommend cleaning the door bottom with rubbing alcohol first. For exterior doors, textured surfaces, or for maximum long-term hold, many Reddit users suggest reinforcing it with a strip of heavy-duty double-sided tape (like 3M VHB) for complete peace of mind.

Question 2

My door gap is over 1 cm, or my floor is uneven. Will this still work?

Accepted Answer

This seal is most effective on flat floors with gaps under 1 cm. For larger gaps or uneven thresholds, the flexible foam may not create a complete seal. In those cases, a taller, adjustable screw-on door sweep or a fabric draft stopper is often a better alternative, as they can conform to more irregular spaces.

Question 3

How do I handle the 1-meter length? Does it require cutting?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the 1-meter length is designed to be trimmed to fit your specific door width. It's easy to cut with sharp scissors or a utility knife. A pro-tip from DIY forums: measure your door, mark the strip with a pencil, and use a straight edge (like a ruler) as a guide for a clean, professional-looking cut.

Question 4

Can I use this for soundproofing a room?

Accepted Answer

While it effectively blocks drafts, light, and dust, its soundproofing capabilities are limited. It will dampen some noise transfer under the door, but it is not an acoustic seal. If reducing sound is your primary goal, you'll need a specialized acoustic door sweep and perimeter seal kit designed for that purpose.

Question 5

Is this suitable for a high-traffic exterior door or if I have pets?

Accepted Answer

It can be used on exterior doors, but the foam may compress and wear faster under frequent use. For durability, ensure the adhesive is strongly reinforced. Pet owners should note that some dogs and cats may be tempted to chew the foam. If that's a concern, a harder, chew-proof draft stopper or a traditional sweep would be a more pet-resistant choice.
