Question 1

Will these GI-11 bottles actually work in my Canon printer?

Accepted Answer

They're designed as a replacement for Canon GI-11 pigment black ink and are intended for the MAXIFY G2160 and G3160 models. If you own a different MAXIFY or PIXMA model, double-check your cartridge code before ordering — many frustrated Reddit threads start with someone assuming "compatible" means "universal."

Question 2

Is this real pigment ink, or will it clog my printhead?

Accepted Answer

It's formulated as pigment black, the same ink type Canon uses for sharp document text. That said, pigment ink can dry out if a printer sits idle for weeks. YouTube reviewers recommend printing something at least once a week to keep the nozzles clear — a habit that protects any printhead, OEM or otherwise.

Question 3

How many pages will two 135ml bottles print?

Accepted Answer

Real-world yield depends on your document density and print settings, but 135ml per bottle is a generous capacity compared to standard cartridges. Most users topping off refillable tanks report months of everyday document printing per bottle, though heavy photo or graphics use will drain it faster.

Question 4

What if it doesn't work or leaks — can I return it?

Accepted Answer

Return eligibility depends on the seller you buy from, so check the listing's refund policy before purchasing. TikTok users often advise buying from sellers with clear return windows and leak-proof packaging, since ink bottles are prone to transit damage. If a bottle arrives leaking, document it with photos immediately.

Question 5

Is it worth buying over genuine Canon ink?

Accepted Answer

If you print a lot of black-and-white documents and want to cut ink costs significantly, this two-pack offers strong value for money. If you need guaranteed OEM performance, warranty protection, or print mostly photos, genuine Canon GI-11 bottles may be the safer — if pricier — choice. Many buyers land in the middle: compatible ink for daily documents, OEM for anything critical.
