Question 1

Is this really leak detection, or just a water meter? Can it catch a tiny toilet leak?

Accepted Answer

It is a genuine leak detector with an automatic shutoff. The ultrasonic sensor is incredibly sensitive down to 0.01 GPM—that’s about one drop every few seconds. Many users on Reddit specifically praise it for catching silent toilet flapper leaks that were invisible to their water bill until now. When it senses a continuous micro-flow, it can trigger the shutoff valve to stop the loss automatically.

Question 2

Will this fit my pipes? I have a standard 3/4" line, but I’m worried about space under my sink.

Accepted Answer

The unit comes with fittings for both 3/4" and 1" pipes right out of the box. However, a common complaint from buyers is that the brass body is quite bulky—longer and taller than a typical shutoff valve. Before purchasing, measure the depth of your cabinet and check for obstructions. It works great on main lines, but fitting it in a cramped under-sink area alongside a garbage disposal can be tight.

Question 3

I’m not a plumber. Is this something I can install myself, or do I need to hire a pro?

Accepted Answer

This requires basic plumbing skills. You will need to cut into your existing pipe to insert the unit. While the water connections are straightforward, the Wi-Fi setup can be finicky at first. Many DIY users found the installation doable with a pipe cutter and wrenches, but they strongly recommend watching an installation video before starting. If you are not comfortable soldering or tightening brass fittings, a handyman can usually install it in under an hour.

Question 4

How does this compare to the Moen Flo? Is it worth saving the money?

Accepted Answer

This is the most common debate in the reviews. The Frizzlife offers similar ultrasonic accuracy and automatic shutoff for roughly half the price of the Moen Flo. The trade-offs are primarily in the brand ecosystem and polish. The Moen has a slightly sleeker app and a more established support network, while Frizzlife users love the detailed pressure graphs and the lower upfront cost. If you want the "best" ecosystem, get the Moen. If you want the "best value" with excellent core functionality, the LP365-P is a winner.

Question 5

What happens if my Wi-Fi goes down or the power goes out? Will my water still be on?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the valve is a motorized ball valve. When power or Wi-Fi is lost, the valve stays in its last position (it defaults to the OPEN position after a power restore for safety). You cannot trigger a shutoff or monitor flow without Wi-Fi, but your water supply will remain active. For peace of mind, the device also supports manual operation, so you can always turn the water off by hand.
