Question 1

I have very thick, coarse, or resistant gray hair. Will this work for me?

Accepted Answer

Results can vary. Many users with coarse or resistant grays report that the color may appear lighter or take longer to build up to a solid coverage. For best results, ensure your hair is thoroughly saturated and consider leaving the shampoo on for the full 5-10 minutes. If you have 80-100% stubborn white hair, you may need to use it more frequently (every 1-2 weeks) for consistent coverage, as it's designed to be buildable.

Question 2

Is it really as mess-free as regular shampoo, and how can I avoid stains?

Accepted Answer

It's significantly less messy than traditional dye, but it's still a colorant. We highly recommend using the provided gloves during application. As several TikTok users have shown, applying a thin layer of petroleum jelly around your hairline and wearing an old towel can prevent skin and surface stains. Rinse your shower immediately after use.

Question 3

How long does the color last, and will it wash out completely?

Accepted Answer

The color typically lasts through 3-4 weeks of regular washing, fading gradually and naturally. It is a semi-permanent dye, meaning it will not wash out entirely in one go like a temporary color rinse. This gradual fade is a key benefit for easy root maintenance, but it's good to know it won't disappear completely after one shampoo.

Question 4

Can I use this on bleached, highlighted, or previously dyed hair?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can. It works on both natural and color-treated hair. On bleached or lightened hair, the Jet Black shade will deposit very directly and may appear more intense. It's always advised to do a strand test first on a small, hidden section of your hair to ensure you're happy with the color result before applying it all over.

Question 5

What's the main difference between this and a traditional box dye?

Accepted Answer

This dye shampoo is designed for ease, gentleness, and gradual blending. Unlike traditional permanent dyes that use ammonia/peroxide to *lift and deposit* color in one long session, this formula simply *deposits* color onto the hair's surface. That means no harsh chemical smell, less scalp irritation, and a more natural, buildable coverage perfect for gray blending. Think of it as a powerful tinted conditioner versus a permanent paint job.
