Question 1

I use a Cricut EasyPress. Will this fabric work well for sublimation?

Accepted Answer

Yes, it will work, but for best results, ensure you use even, firm pressure. Some crafters on social media using similar presses recommend a slightly longer press time and a protective sheet to help achieve a smooth finish, as the fabric's texture can sometimes translate subtly to the print.

Question 2

How should I cut the fabric to prevent fraying?

Accepted Answer

This is a common question! The fabric does fray when cut. We recommend using a rotary cutter for clean edges and immediately finishing seams with a serger, zig-zag stitch, or a hot knife/cutter. Many YouTube tutorials show great techniques for handling sublimation polyester.

Question 3

Is the fabric truly "precut," and what does that mean?

Accepted Answer

"Precut" here means it's pre-cut to the 5-yard length from the larger mill roll, not that it's cut into separate 1-yard pieces. You will receive one continuous 5-yard piece that is 65 inches wide, allowing you to cut it to your specific project sizes.

Question 4

What's the main difference between this and cheaper sublimation fabrics?

Accepted Answer

The primary difference is in the weight, hand-feel, and color brightness. This fabric has a notably softer, smoother drape and a heavier weight that feels more durable. Users often praise its bright white base, which leads to more vibrant prints compared to thinner, stiffer, or off-white alternatives.

Question 5

I'm new to DIY sublimation. Is this a good fabric to start with?

Accepted Answer

It's a fantastic, cost-effective material for learning, but be prepared for a slight learning curve with handling and finishing edges. We suggest watching a few beginner fabric sublimation videos first and starting with a small project. If you want a completely "no-sew" experience, pre-hemmed sublimation blanks might be a better starting point.
