Question 1

Is the display easy to read in normal kitchen lighting?

Accepted Answer

In a well-lit kitchen, the LCD display is perfectly clear. However, many users on Reddit and TikTok have noted that the screen is not backlit, which can make it difficult to read in low-light conditions or under dark cabinet shadows. For use in a bright kitchen, it's excellent.

Question 2

How accurate is this scale for things like baking or measuring small spices?

Accepted Answer

Accuracy is its strongest feature. With over 112,000 reviews praising its precision, it reliably measures down to 1 gram or 0.05 ounces. Bakers and home cooks consistently report it performs just as well as scales twice the price for tasks like weighing flour or coffee.

Question 3

Is the stainless steel platform easy to clean and durable?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the stainless steel top is a major plus for cleanliness. It wipes down instantly with a damp cloth and is BPA-free. The build is sturdy for daily home use, though a small number of users advise being gentle with the battery compartment door to ensure long-term durability.

Question 4

I often measure multiple ingredients in succession. Will this scale work for that?

Accepted Answer

It can, but there's a design quirk to know about. The scale has an auto-off function that some find a bit quick. If you pause too long between adding ingredients, it may shut off. The "tare" function works perfectly, so the trick is to work swiftly or briefly tap the scale between items to keep it awake.

Question 5

Who would you say this scale is NOT the best fit for?

Accepted Answer

If you have a dimly lit kitchen or vision challenges, a scale with a backlit display (like some OXO or Etekcity models) would be better. It's also not ideal for weighing very large platters, as the platform is a standard 6-inch square. For most home cooks, bakers, and people tracking portions, it's an outstanding, no-fuss value.
