Question 1

Is this the same formula as the old Solimo skin cream?

Accepted Answer

This product is the successor to the Solimo moisturizer. While Amazon Basics maintains the core features—being dermatologist-tested, fragrance-free, and for dry/sensitive skin—some long-time users have noted subtle differences in texture. If you were a dedicated Solimo user, you may notice a variation, but the primary moisturizing function and value proposition remain consistent.

Question 2

I’ve seen comments about the pump breaking. Is this a common issue?

Accepted Answer

Some social media reviews and customer feedback have mentioned the pump dispenser can fail before the bottle is empty. This seems to be an occasional quality control issue rather than a universal flaw. Many users have no problems, but if you encounter this, Amazon's return policy is straightforward. Some savvy buyers simply plan to transfer the cream to another container if needed.

Question 3

Is this cream suitable for use on my face, and will it clog pores?

Accepted Answer

While it's dermatologist-tested and fragrance-free, making it gentle for many, it is formulated as a body cream. Those with oily or acne-prone facial skin might find it too rich. For facial use, we recommend patch-testing first. As highlighted in many TikTok skincare routines, those seeking a guaranteed non-comedogenic facial moisturizer often prefer products specifically designed for the face, like CeraVe or Cetaphil facial lotions.

Question 4

Is "Ultra Moisturizing" strong enough for very dry, cracked skin or conditions like eczema?

Accepted Answer

For general dry and sensitive skin, it provides solid, reliable hydration. However, based on user sentiment from platforms like Reddit, individuals with severe dryness or conditions like eczema sometimes find they need a more targeted, clinical-strength product (like Eucerin or Vanicream) for intensive repair. This cream is excellent for daily maintenance and preventing dryness but may not be a standalone solution for extreme cases.

Question 5

What’s the best reason to choose this moisturizer?

Accepted Answer

The overwhelming consensus from reviews is that this cream offers exceptional value. You get a large amount of a simple, effective, and fragrance-free moisturizer that works perfectly for everyday full-body care. It’s a favorite for budget-aware shoppers, families, and anyone looking for a no-nonsense hydrator that gets the job done without irritation or heavy scent.
