Question 1

Are these panels real wood, and can I paint them?

Accepted Answer

The panels are made from medium-density fiberboard (MDF) with a high-quality photographic wood laminate finish (in this case, Walnut). This makes them lightweight and consistent. Because of this laminate surface, they are not designed to be painted or stained traditionally—paint may not adhere properly. For a custom color, we recommend looking for panels specifically designed for painting.

Question 2

How difficult is the installation really? I've seen mixed reviews.

Accepted Answer

Installation is straightforward but requires patience for a perfect result. The panels are lightweight and come with adhesive strips. The key, as many YouTube DIYers note, is starting with a perfectly level guide line and working slowly to align each panel. Cutting panels to fit around obstacles is easy with a fine-tooth saw. For textured walls or ceilings, or in humid climates, some Reddit users recommend supplementing with additional construction adhesive for long-term hold.

Question 3

Will these actually soundproof my room from outside noise?

Accepted Answer

It's important to clarify: these are sound-absorbing panels, not sound*proofing* panels. They excel at reducing echo, reverb, and "hollow" sounds *within* a room—perfect for clearer Zoom calls, recording, or improving room acoustics. They will not significantly block sound from entering or leaving the room (like traffic or neighbor noise). Managing that expectation is key to satisfaction.

Question 4

I'm worried about damage during shipping or the panels being fragile.

Accepted Answer

While the panels are sturdy once installed, the slatted edges can be susceptible to chipping if mishandled. We pack them securely, but shipping can be rough. Please inspect your order immediately upon arrival. If any damage occurs, contact our support team right away with photos. During installation, handle the panels with care, especially when cutting or positioning them.

Question 5

What's the best way to ensure I get a seamless look and avoid color variation?

Accepted Answer

For a uniform appearance, we strongly recommend purchasing all the panels you need for a project in a single order from the same production batch. While we maintain strict color controls, slight tonal variations can occur between batches. When installing, dry-fit your layout first and mix panels from different boxes to blend any minor variations seamlessly. Many satisfied customers on TikTok show that this technique results in a beautiful, consistent feature wall.
