Question 1

How long does it take to see results on scars or stretch marks?

Accepted Answer

Consistency is key. While some users report noticing improved skin texture and hydration within a few weeks, visible fading of scars and stretch marks typically requires dedicated, twice-daily application for 8-12 weeks or longer. Many reviewers on platforms like Reddit emphasize that it worked best for their *new* (red/purple) marks, with older marks requiring more patience.

Question 2

Is it safe to use on my face, especially if I'm prone to acne?

Accepted Answer

While Bio-Oil is non-comedogenic and dermatologist-recommended for all skin types, individual reactions vary. It's beloved by many for facial hydration. However, a common social media insight is that those with very oily or acne-prone skin sometimes experience clogged pores. We recommend patch testing on a small area of your jawline for a week. If you're concerned, many users find it excels as a dedicated body treatment.

Question 3

Does the oil feel greasy, and will it stain my clothes?

Accepted Answer

Bio-Oil is a dry-oil formula designed to absorb, but absorption time can vary by skin type. To avoid any transfer, apply a small amount to damp skin and massage thoroughly until absorbed—this usually takes 1-2 minutes. A frequent tip from TikTok users is to use it at night or allow a few minutes of absorption before dressing. It should not stain if applied correctly and given time to sink in.

Question 4

Is the 2oz bottle a good value, or should I start with a larger size?

Accepted Answer

The 2oz size is perfect for trying the product, targeting a specific area (like a single scar), or for travel. However, a prevalent piece of feedback from long-term users is regret over not buying a larger size initially, as consistent full-body use will deplete the 2oz bottle relatively quickly. If you're planning to use it on larger areas (like the stomach or legs) daily, the larger sizes offer better value per ounce.

Question 5

Who is this product best suited for, and who might want to look for an alternative?

Accepted Answer

Bio-Oil is a fantastic multi-tasking moisturizer ideal for: those seeking to improve the appearance of *new* scars or stretch marks, individuals with dry or sensitive skin needing deep hydration, and anyone wanting a versatile oil for body, cuticles, or (for many) face use. Based on user sentiments, those primarily seeking a fast-acting, non-greasy scar treatment or who are highly sensitive to fragrance might explore alternatives like specialized scar gels or fragrance-free body oils.
