Question 1

What's the main difference between this Mexican oregano and regular oregano?

Accepted Answer

Mexican oregano comes from a different plant (related to verbena) and has a more robust, slightly citrusy, and earthy flavor compared to the sweeter, more subtle taste of Mediterranean oregano. It's essential for authentic Mexican, Tex-Mex, and Caribbean dishes like chili, moles, and adobos. Many home chefs on social media rave about the depth it adds.

Question 2

How should I store this large bag to keep it fresh?

Accepted Answer

For maximum freshness and potency, we strongly recommend transferring the oregano to an airtight container or a glass jar with a tight seal after opening. A common piece of feedback from users is that this simple step prevents the oregano from losing its vibrant flavor and protects it from humidity, which can cause clumping.

Question 3

Is the texture consistent, and will I need to sift it?

Accepted Answer

This product contains whole crushed leaves, and some small stems are natural. While most users find the texture perfect for cooking, occasional batches may be coarser. If you prefer a finer texture, a quick sift through a mesh strainer is easy. For the absolute finest texture, you can give it a brief pulse in a spice grinder.

Question 4

Is this product suitable for someone with gluten or allergen concerns?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Club House Mexican Oregano Leaves are a single-ingredient, natural herb with no added gluten, MSG, or artificial colors. As with all spices, it's packed in a facility that handles other ingredients, so we recommend checking the packaging for the most current allergen information if you have severe sensitivities.

Question 5

Who would get the most value out of this 143g bag?

Accepted Answer

This bulk size offers fantastic value for frequent cooks, especially those who love making Latin-inspired cuisine, big batches of chili, or weekly meal prep. If you only use oregano occasionally, you might prefer a smaller jar. However, if stored properly in an airtight container, this bag provides long-lasting, high-quality flavor that our most enthusiastic reviewers swear by.
