Question 1

How bad is the tooth sensitivity, and can I prevent it?**

Accepted Answer

Temporary sensitivity is very common, as noted in many reviews. It's often described as a brief, sharp sensation when breathing in or drinking cold liquids, typically lasting only during the treatment and for a short while after. To minimize it, consider using a sensitivity toothpaste for two weeks before starting, and avoid using the strips back-to-back; every other day can be just as effective with less discomfort.

Question 2

Do the strips fit all teeth sizes, and can I trim them?**

Accepted Answer

The strips are designed as a one-size-fits-most. However, a frequent tip from users on social media is that if you have a smaller smile, you can safely trim the strips with clean scissors for a better fit. The key is ensuring the gel side still fully covers the front surface of your teeth for even whitening.

Question 3

What does the LED light actually do? Is it necessary?**

Accepted Answer

The blue LED light is intended to accelerate the whitening process. User opinions are mixed; some feel it enhances results, while others, including many YouTube reviewers, find it adds minimal value. Think of it as a potential booster. The Professional Effects strips themselves are highly effective, so you will see results even if you choose not to use the light every time.

Question 4

Will this kit whiten dental work like crowns, veneers, or fillings?**

Accepted Answer

No, it will not. Like all whitening products, Crest 3DWhitestrips are only effective on natural tooth enamel. Any existing dental work (crowns, veneers, fillings) will remain their original color, which could lead to an uneven appearance. It's best for naturally stained or yellowed teeth.

Question 5

How long do the results last, and what's the best maintenance routine?**

Accepted Answer

Results can last several months, but they are not permanent as teeth are naturally prone to restaining. To maintain your whiter smile, limit stain-causing foods/drinks (coffee, red wine, berries), practice good oral hygiene, and consider using a whitening toothpaste. Many satisfied users do a single "touch-up" treatment every 3-6 months to keep their smile bright.
