Question 1

What exact sizes are included in the 10-piece set?

Accepted Answer

The set includes a range of the most commonly used sizes, but not every incremental fraction between 1/4" and 2". You'll typically receive multiples of the smaller sizes (like 1/4", 3/8", 1/2") and a selection up to 2". This provides great coverage for most household projects like installing plumbing fixtures, door handles, or creating holes for cables. For the precise size list, please check the product description or packaging.

Question 2

I'm new to drilling tile/glass. Are these bits easy to use for a beginner?

Accepted Answer

They are effective but do require the right technique. A common tip from DIY YouTube tutorials is to always use water as a coolant (a spray bottle works well), start at a slow drill speed with very light pressure, and let the diamond grit do the work—don't force it. Practicing on a scrap piece first is highly recommended. Many first-time users find success after watching a short instructional video.

Question 3

Are these bits durable, or do they break easily?

Accepted Answer

When used correctly with proper cooling and minimal pressure, users report these bits hold up well for materials like ceramic tile, glass, and marble. However, the smaller diameters (especially 1/4") are more delicate and can snap if side pressure is applied. For frequent, heavy-duty use on materials like granite, professionals often opt for premium, single bits. For occasional home projects, this set offers excellent value and durability.

Question 4

Do I need a special drill, or will my regular cordless drill work?

Accepted Answer

Your standard cordless drill is perfectly suitable! These bits are designed to be used with variable speed drills. The key is to set your drill to a slower speed (not the high speed used for wood or metal). A common piece of feedback is that using a drill with a side handle for better control is very helpful, especially for larger hole sizes.

Question 5

What materials are these drill bits NOT suitable for?

Accepted Answer

This set is specifically designed for brittle, hard materials like porcelain, ceramic, glass, marble, and granite. They are not intended for drilling into metal, wood, plastic, or concrete/brick. Using them on the wrong material will dull them instantly. For mixed-material projects (like drilling through a tile wall into the stud behind), you would use this diamond bit for the tile, then switch to a standard masonry or wood bit for the underlying layer.
