Question 1

Will this safe fit standard 8.5x11 inch documents flat?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but with a small caveat – standard A4 or letter-size documents will sit flat inside, but you may need to angle them slightly if they have bulky plastic covers or bindings. The interior measures roughly 12.5" x 10.3". Many Reddit users said this works great for passports, cash, and loose papers, but not for full binders.

Question 2

How do I reset the combination lock if I forget the code?

Accepted Answer

The combination can be reset by inserting the key and turning it to the reset position while the door is open – the manual walks you through it step by step. If you lose the key, the brand offers a replacement service (contact customer support with your serial number). TikTok users recommend writing down the code and key number together in a secure note.

Question 3

Is this safe truly fireproof, or just fire-resistant?

Accepted Answer

It’s fire-resistant, not fireproof. It can withstand up to 1700°F for about 30 minutes (rated for paper documents only). We recommend against storing electronics or hard drives inside, as the heat can damage them even if the box itself survives. For sensitive electronics, you’ll want a larger, UL-classified safe from brands like First Alert or SentrySafe.

Question 4

Can this safe be bolted down to prevent theft?

Accepted Answer

Yes – there are two pre-drilled holes on the bottom and back for mounting bolts (not included). Many buyers use it in a drawer or on a closet shelf with simple screws. Keep in mind the box itself is lightweight (about 6 lbs), so without bolting, someone could easily carry it away. It’s ideal for quick access and travel, not as a primary home security safe.

Question 5

Is it worth the money compared to cheaper lockboxes or larger safes?

Accepted Answer

For its price range, this safe offers a good balance – it’s sturdier than plastic lockboxes and more portable than heavy fire safes. It’s a solid choice for students, travelers, or anyone who needs to organize documents securely without spending $100+. However, if you need true fire protection or heavy theft deterrence (e.g., for a home office), you may be happier investing in a larger, boltable safe.
