Question 1

How accurate is the "Rustic Brown" color, and will it match my existing wood tones?

Accepted Answer

The color can vary slightly from screen to screen. Based on user feedback, the "Rustic Brown" tends to be a warm, medium brown with a distinct wood grain. However, some have noted it can pull slightly orange or gray depending on your lighting. We recommend checking a small sample in your space if an exact match is critical. Many TikTok users have had success pairing it with darker oak or espresso finishes.

Question 2

Will this stick to my textured cabinets or laminate countertops?

Accepted Answer

For best results, this paper requires a completely smooth, clean, and dry surface. It adheres very well to smooth laminate, sealed wood, glass, and metal. However, as noted in several YouTube tutorials, it will not bond reliably to textured surfaces (like some cabinet doors) or porous surfaces without a primer. Any existing texture will show through and weaken the adhesive bond.

Question 3

Is it truly waterproof and durable enough for a kitchen countertop?

Accepted Answer

The material is waterproof and thick, making it resistant to spills and stains for daily use. You can confidently wipe it down. However, it is not scratch-proof or heat-proof. We recommend using cutting boards and trivets. For long-term, high-traffic countertops, it's a fantastic budget-friendly or rental-friendly update, but it may show wear over several years, unlike solid surface materials.

Question 4

How difficult is it to install on a large area like a countertop, and how do I handle seams?

Accepted Answer

Installation is a manageable DIY project. The key is patience and preparation. Clean the surface meticulously with rubbing alcohol. For large areas, plan your layout to minimize seams in high-visibility spots. Overlap sheets slightly and use a very sharp blade and a straight edge to cut through both layers for a "butt" seam, which is less visible than an overlap. A plastic smoother tool is essential for pushing out air bubbles.

Question 5

Is it easily removable without damaging my walls or furniture?

Accepted Answer

On most non-porous, painted surfaces (like melamine or properly sealed paint), it can be removed by slowly peeling at a 180-degree angle. However, on fragile surfaces like old paint, unsealed wood, or drywall, there is a risk of pulling up the finish or paint, as some Reddit users have experienced. Always test a small area first. Applying gentle heat from a hairdryer can soften the adhesive for easier removal.
