Question 1

Is the wedge pillow soft or firm, and how long does it take to get used to?

Accepted Answer

The Kolbs wedge is designed for supportive elevation, so it uses a high-density, firm foam. It's not a soft, plush pillow. Most users report a noticeable adjustment period of 1-2 weeks to sleep comfortably on the incline. The consensus is that while the initial feel is very firm, the body adapts, and the health benefits—like reflux relief—make it worthwhile.

Question 2

I'm worried about the "Standard Width." How wide is it, and will I roll off?

Accepted Answer

The standard width is 24 inches, which is narrower than a standard bed pillow. Many Reddit and Amazon reviewers note that if you're a active sleeper or prefer to share with a partner, you might feel confined or roll off the sides. It's designed for single-person use. If you need more space, you might want to explore "Extra Wide" or "King" size wedge pillows from other brands.

Question 3

Does the cover stay on, and is it easy to clean?

Accepted Answer

The chic jacquard cover has a full-length zipper for removal. However, a common piece of feedback is that the cover can slip off the foam during the night. Some users secure it with safety pins or opt for a deeper, fitted pillowcase over the entire wedge. It is machine washable, which is a plus for maintenance.

Question 4

Can this pillow replace my CPAP machine for sleep apnea?

Accepted Answer

No, and it's important to manage expectations. While elevation can help reduce snoring and mild symptoms for some, this pillow is not a medical device or a substitute for prescribed sleep apnea treatment like a CPAP machine. Many TikTok and review discussions emphasize it's best viewed as a complementary aid for comfort, not a cure. Always consult your doctor for sleep apnea management.

Question 5

Is it truly FSA/HSA eligible, and what is the return policy if it doesn't work for me?

Accepted Answer

Yes, this wedge pillow is FSA/HSA eligible. You should keep your receipt and check with your plan administrator for reimbursement specifics. Regarding returns, Kolbs offers a standard return window (typically 30 days, but confirm on the product page at time of purchase). Given the adjustment period many users need, it's wise to check the current policy details to ensure you have enough time to decide if it's right for you.
