Question 1

Is the "Auto Mode" smart, and can I control this purifier with an app?

Accepted Answer

It's important to clarify that this model does not have Wi-Fi or app connectivity. Its "Auto Mode" is a helpful feature where the built-in air quality sensor automatically adjusts the fan speed based on real-time particle levels in the immediate vicinity. Many users love this hands-off approach, but if remote control or detailed air quality history via smartphone is a priority, you may want to consider a smart-enabled model.

Question 2

How effective is it for removing cigarette smoke or strong cooking odors?

Accepted Answer

Based on numerous reviews from users in smoking rooms and apartments, this purifier is highly effective at neutralizing and reducing lingering odors, including smoke and cooking smells. The key is matching it to the right room size. For best results with persistent odors, place it in the closed room where the smell originates (like a smoking room or kitchen) and let it run on a higher setting initially. Its H13 HEPA and activated carbon filter combo is designed specifically for this task.

Question 3

Is the sleep mode truly quiet, and can the display lights be turned off completely?

Accepted Answer

Yes! The 22dB sleep mode is consistently the most praised feature. Users on platforms like Reddit often describe it as "whisper-quiet" or "inaudible," making it ideal for bedrooms. All display lights turn off automatically in sleep mode, creating a completely dark environment for sensitive sleepers. A small minority have noted the touch controls can be sensitive, but this is not a widespread issue.

Question 4

The ongoing cost of filters worries me. How long do they last, and can I use cheaper third-party ones?

Accepted Answer

Official Levoit HEPA filters for this model are designed to last 6-8 months under normal use, but this can shorten with pets or heavy smoke. While some third-party filters are available, we strongly recommend using genuine Levoit filters. Using non-OEM filters can affect performance, airflow, and potentially void the warranty. To get the most from each filter, regularly vacuuming the pre-filter (the outer washable mesh) can help extend the main filter's life.

Question 5

I have an open-plan living area. Will one unit be enough?

Accepted Answer

This purifier has a CADR of 195 m³/h, which is excellent for rooms up to about 25 m² (270 sq ft) as a standalone unit. For large, open-concept spaces, its effectiveness will be strongest in the immediate zone around it. Many users in open apartments find optimal results by using it in the bedroom at night and moving it to the living area during the day, or by placing it near their primary seating area. For whole-floor purification, you might consider multiple units or a model with a higher CADR rated for larger spaces.
