Question 1

Is the G502 Lightspeed too heavy for competitive gaming?

Accepted Answer

It depends on your game. At around 114g (or up to 130g with all weights installed), it's noticeably heavier than ultralight FPS mice like the G Pro X Superlight. Many Reddit and YouTube users say it's perfectly fine for MMOs, MOBAs, and casual FPS play, but if you're grinding ranked Valorant or CS2, you may prefer something lighter. It's a comfort-and-features mouse, not a featherweight speed demon.

Question 2

How long does the battery really last, and can I use it while charging?

Accepted Answer

Logitech rates it at up to 60 hours, but that's with RGB off. With lighting on, expect closer to 25–35 hours depending on brightness and polling rate. The good news: yes, you can plug in the included USB cable and keep gaming while it charges — many TikTok users actually run it wired most of the time and only go wireless when they want a cleaner desk.

Question 3

I've heard about Logitech mice developing double-click issues. Should I be worried?

Accepted Answer

It's a fair concern — some long-term users report switch failures after 1–2 years, and it's one of the most common complaints in enthusiast forums. That said, the vast majority of the 13,600+ reviewers haven't hit this issue, and Logitech's warranty covers defects. If you want extra peace of mind, the newer G502 X Plus uses optical switches designed to eliminate double-clicking.

Question 4

Will it work with my Mac, PS5, or laptop — or is it PC-only?

Accepted Answer

It works with Windows, macOS, and even PS5 via the USB receiver, though full customization (button remapping, DPI profiles, RGB) requires Logitech's G HUB software, which is only available on Windows and macOS. Mac users should note that G HUB has a mixed reputation — functional, but occasionally buggy after updates. On PS5, you'll get basic mouse function but no custom profiles.

Question 5

Is it worth the price, or should I buy something else?

Accepted Answer

At full MSRP it's a premium buy, and many shoppers suggest waiting for a sale — it frequently drops during Prime Day and Black Friday. If you want lots of buttons, adjustable weights, and all-day comfort, it's excellent value. If you're a competitive FPS player chasing every millisecond, a lighter alternative like the G Pro X Superlight or Razer Viper V2 Pro may suit you better. For everyone in between, the G502 Lightspeed remains one of the most versatile wireless gaming mice you can buy.
