Question 1

Will the Maxonar 20FT cable fully charge my Quest 3 or Quest 2 while I'm playing PCVR games?

Accepted Answer

Many users were surprised to learn this cable is designed to keep your headset's battery stable during gameplay, not fully charge it. It typically maintains the current level or slows the drain, which is ideal for long sessions. For a full charge, you’d need to take a break or use a dedicated charging dock instead.

Question 2

Does this cable work with the Pico 4 or older VR headsets?

Accepted Answer

The cable is officially compatible with Meta Quest 3S, Quest 3, Quest 2, and PC/SteamVR. For Pico 4, several community members on Reddit confirmed it works, though Maxonar doesn’t list it officially. For other headsets, check that your device supports USB-C data at 5Gbps speeds.

Question 3

I move around a lot in Beat Saber—will I have issues with the cable tugging or disconnecting?

Accepted Answer

A few active gamers on TikTok mentioned the straight connector can put pressure on the headset’s USB-C port during fast head movements. If you regularly spin or duck, consider using a small cable clip or velcro strap to secure the cable to your headset strap. Overall, most room-scale players find the 20FT length very freeing.

Question 4

My PC keeps dropping the connection. What could be wrong?

Accepted Answer

This is sometimes caused by insufficient power from your PC’s USB port. Try plugging the cable directly into a motherboard USB 3.0 port at the back of your computer, not a front panel port or hub. If the issue persists, your system may need a powered USB hub to boost the signal.

Question 5

Is this cable a good gift for someone new to PCVR?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely—many buyers mention it as a thoughtful, affordable gift for friends or family getting into VR. It eliminates the need for a battery pack or wireless setup, and the braided cord feels durable enough for everyday use. Just let them know about the battery-maintenance feature so expectations are clear.
