Question 1

Is the steam cleaner truly powerful enough for tough jobs like deep-cleaning grout or degreasing an oven?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Based on thousands of user reviews, the MC1385 is consistently praised for its powerful, chemical-free steam. It effectively loosens grime in grout lines, dissolves baked-on grease in ovens, and sanitizes surfaces. The key is using the right accessory (like the triangle brush) and allowing the unit to reach optimal temperature for "dry" steam, which provides the most cleaning power.

Question 2

How portable is it really? I've seen comments about it being heavy.

Accepted Answer

This is a common and fair point from user feedback. The main unit is robust and has some weight to it (about 10 lbs when empty), which contributes to its durability and powerful performance. While it rolls easily on wheels, carrying it up stairs or using it for extended periods overhead can be taxing. Many users on platforms like Reddit suggest planning your cleaning by area to minimize carrying. It's best suited for whole-floor or room-by-room cleaning rather than quick, spot-cleaning around a multi-story home.

Question 3

Can I use regular tap water, or do I need distilled water?

Accepted Answer

The manual recommends distilled or demineralized water to prevent mineral buildup (scale) inside the boiler over time, which can affect performance and longevity. This is a standard recommendation for most steam cleaners. However, many users in online forums report using filtered or softened tap water without immediate issues. For the best long-term care and to maintain the 2-hour runtime potential, using distilled water is the advised choice.

Question 4

Is it suitable for cleaning my car's interior and engine bay?

Accepted Answer

Yes, this is one of its most popular uses! DIY detailing enthusiasts on YouTube and TikTok frequently highlight the MC1385 for car cleaning. The variety of brushes and the lance attachment make it excellent for safely cleaning leather seats, fabric upholstery, dashboards, and even degreasing engine components. Its chemical-free operation is a major plus for interior surfaces. Just ensure the engine is cool and you avoid direct steam on sensitive electrical components.

Question 5

What's included, and how do I store all 23 accessories?

Accepted Answer

You receive a comprehensive set including the main unit, a mop head, floor squeegee, extension tubes, and numerous brushes (angled, round, detail) for every task. A common piece of feedback is that the accessories come packaged in a box without a dedicated organizer. Many satisfied customers recommend purchasing a separate tool bag or storage caddy to keep all the pieces together and make your cleaning sessions more efficient.
