Question 1

Is this paint suitable for acrylic pouring, or is it just regular acrylic?

Accepted Answer

This is a common question! Pebéo Studio Fine Acrylic is a premium, high-pigment *general-purpose* acrylic paint. While its smooth consistency can be used for pouring, it is not specifically formulated to create the dramatic cell effects of dedicated pouring mediums. Many TikTok artists recommend it for brush and knife work, but suggest Pebéo's "Fantasy" range or mixing with pouring mediums for fluid art.

Question 2

How does the quality and value compare to brands like Liquitex or Golden?

Accepted Answer

It sits in an excellent sweet spot. Reviews consistently praise its pigment strength and buttery feel as rivaling professional-grade brands. The 100ml tube offers good value for a high-quality paint—you use less due to its opacity. It's often described as a perfect upgrade from student paints and a reliable, slightly more affordable alternative to top-tier professional lines for daily studio work.

Question 3

What surfaces can I use it on, and is it permanent once dry?

Accepted Answer

This paint adheres beautifully to primed surfaces like canvas, wood, paper, and MDF. Once fully cured (24-72 hours), it forms a flexible, waterproof, and permanent film. A key tip from experienced users: allow each layer to dry thoroughly to prevent reactivating the paint underneath when glazing.

Question 4

Is the "March Black" truly opaque, and is the consistency the same across all colors?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the March Black is specifically hailed across social media for its exceptional one-coat opacity and rich tone. Regarding consistency, Pebéo Studio is known for its reliable, smooth body. However, as some advanced users on art forums note, there can be slight variations in opacity or thickness between different color pigments—this is common in artist-grade paints. The blacks, whites, and primaries are consistently top-rated.

Question 5

Who would you say this paint is best suited for?

Accepted Answer

It's ideal for the serious hobbyist, art student ready to upgrade, or the semi-professional artist looking for a dependable, high-quality acrylic for finished pieces. It's less suited for absolute beginners on a strict practice budget or artists seeking *only* specialized effects (like heavy impasto or fluid art cells). If you value intense color and smooth application for detailed work, you'll likely love it.
