Question 1

How does the battery life and performance compare to the original Olympus BLS-50 battery?

Accepted Answer

Based on extensive user feedback, the Powerextra batteries consistently match, and in many cases, meet or slightly exceed, the performance of the original Olympus BLS-50. The most common praise in reviews is that users notice no practical difference in shots per charge. The dual charger also adds significant convenience over the standard single OEM charger.

Question 2

Is this kit safe for my camera? I've heard warnings about third-party batteries.

Accepted Answer

This is a top concern we understand. This kit is designed specifically as a compatible replacement with built-in protection circuits to prevent overcharging and short-circuiting. With over 300 reviews maintaining a 4.6-star average, the overwhelming consensus is that these batteries are a reliable and safe alternative. As with any battery, we recommend using the included charger and not mixing brands in the dual charger.

Question 3

The charger has an LCD screen. How accurate are the battery level indicators?

Accepted Answer

The LCD is great for a visual progress check, but some users note the percentage indicators can be approximate. A more reliable method is to use the icon-based display (like a filling battery symbol). Think of the percentage as a helpful estimate rather than a precise measurement—the key is that it clearly shows when charging is complete.

Question 4

What if I receive a battery that doesn't hold a charge or my kit is missing a part?

Accepted Answer

While uncommon, we stand by our products. The kit is backed by a warranty. If you encounter any issue like a dead-on-arrival battery, please contact the seller or place of purchase directly through your order page. They have a process for troubleshooting and, if needed, replacement to ensure you get a fully functional kit.

Question 5

I'm a travel photographer. Is the dual charger bulky, and can it charge via USB?

Accepted Answer

Perfect for travel! The charger is compact and lightweight—a major benefit users highlight. However, it's important to note this specific charger requires a wall outlet (AC power) and does not have a USB port for charging via a power bank or car adapter. Its main travel advantage is charging two batteries at once, cutting down your ready-time significantly.
