Question 1

Is this cable truly Apple certified and MFi licensed?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the cable is Apple certified through the official MFi (Made for iPhone/iPad/iPod) program. Some users on Reddit initially questioned this, but the certification applies to the chip inside the 30-pin connector. If you see a rare “accessory not supported” message on an older iPad model, try cleaning the device’s charging port first—dust buildup is common with legacy devices.

Question 2

How durable is the cable for daily use, especially at the connector ends?

Accepted Answer

Durability is the most common concern in reviews and social media. This 4.0ft cable uses a standard rubber coating, not braided nylon, so it will be more prone to fraying if you constantly bend it at sharp angles. For bedside or couch charging where the cable gets twisted, consider reinforcing the connector ends with electrical tape or a spring wrap. Many TikTok users found this extends the life to 6–12 months of daily use.

Question 3

Will this work to sync data, or is it only for charging?

Accepted Answer

It handles both charging and data syncing for all compatible devices: iPhone 4, 4S, 3G, 3GS, iPad 1/2/3, and iPod Touch/Nano models. Just plug it into your computer’s USB port—your device should appear in iTunes or Finder immediately. A few users reported slower sync speeds than the original Apple cable, but this is typically unnoticeable for music or photo transfers.

Question 4

Why is the cable only 4 feet long, and is that enough?

Accepted Answer

The 4.0ft (1.2m) length is designed for portability rather than home charging. It’s ideal for connecting to a car USB port, power bank in a bag, or a laptop on a desk. For charging an iPad from a wall outlet while lying in bed, most users found it too short—you’d want a 6ft cable for that setup. Think of this as a “go bag” cable rather than a permanent home station cable.

Question 5

My old iPad has a thick protective case—will the 30-pin connector fit?

Accepted Answer

The connector has a standard width and fits most cases that have a proper cutout for the 30-pin port. However, heavy-duty or waterproof cases with extra-thick edges may block the connector from seating fully. If you see “this accessory is not supported” or the charge stops after a few seconds, try removing the case to see if the connection is the issue. For flush-fitting cases with small openings, this cable should work like the original Apple version.
