Question 1

The reviews are all 5 stars but seem limited—should I trust the high rating?

Accepted Answer

That’s a fair concern. While the average rating is high from 26 reviews, the feedback lacks detail and may not reflect every type of wall or job. This stud finder works well for standard drywall and basic stud/joist detection, especially for DIYers. If you have plaster, metal studs, or thick tile, we recommend checking specific user experiences from community forums first—or upgrading to a pro-grade model like the Zircon or Bosch.

Question 2

I saw on Reddit that the “8 in 1” feature doesn’t always work—can you explain?

Accepted Answer

Yes, some users find the extra modes (like AC wire or metal detection) a bit sensitive or inconsistent on certain wall types. The core function—finding wooden studs and joists—is reliable 90% of the time. For edge finding of wooden studs in drywall, it’s a solid pick. But if you need pinpoint metal scanning or deep wire detection, you might want a dedicated tool for those tasks.

Question 3

How accurate is the stud detection on older walls with plaster or lath?

Accepted Answer

Many TikTok and forum users report mixed results on older plaster or lath walls—the sensor can false-trigger or miss studs entirely. This unit is optimized for modern drywall (up to 1/2” thick). For historic homes or irregular surfaces, you’ll get better results with a deeper-scanning model like the Franklin Sensors 710.

Question 4

I’m a beginner DIYer—will this be easy to use?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. The LCD display is bright, the audio alarm is clear in quiet spaces, and the device is lightweight. Just hold it flat against the wall, slide slowly, and mark the center when it beeps. Many beginners find it intuitive. Just note that the alarm can be hard to hear if you’re using loud power tools, so keep an eye on the screen, too.

Question 5

What if I’m not satisfied—what’s the return policy?

Accepted Answer

We offer a standard 30-day return window for a full refund if you’re unhappy. However, since many users succeed with this tool on basic drywall, we recommend checking compatibility with your wall material first (sheetrock, plywood, etc.). For any issues, our support team can walk you through setting adjustments and calibration before you decide to return.
