Question 1

Does the Timekettle W4 translate in real time without long delays?

Accepted Answer

The manufacturer states the W4 uses AI semantic segmentation for virtually instant translation, letting you hear translations of previous sentences as the speaker continues. Some reviewers confirm it works in real time, though one reviewer reported having to wait around ten seconds, so experiences vary.

Question 2

Do I need a subscription to use the Timekettle W4?

Accepted Answer

The manufacturer's listing states "Kein Abo" (no subscription) as a product feature. However, one customer review mentions that full use is tied to a subscription, so this point is not fully consistent across the material.

Question 3

How well does the W4 fit, and can it be worn for long periods?

Accepted Answer

Some reviewers report fit problems, with the earbuds falling out during movement even with the included tips and ear hooks, and one notes they are somewhat uncomfortable for extended wear. Another reviewer says they must use the ear ring or the earbuds fall out.

Question 4

How many languages does the Timekettle W4 support?

Accepted Answer

The manufacturer's listing states the W4 supports 42 languages with over 95 accents, covering about 95% of the world's languages. One reviewer notes that Thai requires a network connection to work.

Question 5

How does the W4 handle background noise during translation?

Accepted Answer

The manufacturer states the W4's bone conduction sensor isolates your voice precisely even in 100 dB noise, such as loud trade fairs or busy streets. One reviewer also mentions using it successfully in Thailand with a network connection.
