Question 1

I have fine/thin hair. Will this wax weigh my hair down or make it look greasy?

Accepted Answer

Not at all! A key benefit mentioned by many users with fine hair is that TrendStarter Matte Wax provides strong hold without the grease or heaviness of oil-based pomades. Its water-based formula and matte finish are designed to add texture and volume while keeping hair looking natural. The trick is to start with a very small amount (pea-sized) and emulsify it well in your palms before applying.

Question 2

How strong is the scent, and what does it smell like?

Accepted Answer

The scent is noticeable upon application and is a common topic in reviews. It's a clean, masculine fragrance often described as a fresh, barbershop-style scent. While many enjoy it, a portion of users do find it quite strong initially. The good news is that the scent typically fades significantly within 15-30 minutes after application, leaving just a subtle trace for you to notice.

Question 3

Is it really flake-free and easy to wash out at the end of the day?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and this is one of its most praised features. As a water-based pomade, it's designed to be flake-free, even when you run your hands through your hair or restyle it later. Washing it out is straightforward—it dissolves easily with regular shampoo in one wash, leaving no sticky residue behind, unlike some clay or fiber products.

Question 4

How does the "Firm Hold" and "Matte Finish" work for someone with very thick, coarse hair?

Accepted Answer

For most users with thick hair, it provides excellent control and a natural, low-shine finish. However, based on social media feedback, a small number of people with extremely coarse hair seeking an *ultra-matte*, completely dry look have noted it can leave a slight natural sheen. If your hair is very thick and you desire an absolutely bone-dry finish, you might want to pair it with a pre-styler or a stronger-hold clay. For the vast majority, it delivers a true, versatile matte look.

Question 5

How long does a 4oz tin typically last with daily use?

Accepted Answer

With daily use, a 4oz tin can easily last 2-3 months or more. A little truly goes a long way—most users only need a pea-sized to dime-sized amount per application. Over-applying is a common beginner mistake that can lead to a stiff feel. Start small, you can always add more if needed. This makes it an excellent value for money compared to many premium salon brands.
